Bali man facing 5 years for not returning lost phone

Police in Bali have arrested a person for failing handy again a misplaced cellphone to its rightful proprietor, with the suspect now dealing with as much as 5 years in jail for theft.

The suspect, recognized as 54-year-old IPS, picked up a cellphone dropped by a 17-year-old boy in a discipline in Tabanan Regency again in October. 

The boy texted and tried calling his personal quantity in an try and retrieve his cellphone, however the quantity quickly went out of service as IPS ditched the SIM card.

The boy then reported the lacking cellphone to the police. After three months of looking, police lastly discovered the cellphone with IPS and arrested him at his residence in Marga District.

“The suspect handed over the cellphone, which he had used previously three months,” Marga Precinct Chief I Gede Budiarta mentioned.

IPS has been charged with theft beneath the Prison Code (KUHP), which carries a most punishment of 5 years in jail.
