East Midlands Airport has been evacuated following stories of a suspicious bundle.
Roughly 3,000 passengers are understood to have been affected, with three flights headed in the direction of the worldwide airport diverted to land elsewhere.
The terminal was evacuated “as a precaution to allow police to hold out mandatory enquiries”, an airport spokesperson stated.
“It has now re-opened and we’re working with the airways to get passengers away on their flights. We thank prospects for his or her persistence and understanding,” the spokesperson added.
By round 6.15pm, flight restrictions have been stated to have been lifted, with airways hoping that every one eight of the flights would be capable to depart.
