Passengers ‘scream, cry and pray’ as smoke fills cabin on American Airlines flight

Passengers onboard an American Airways flight reportedly screamed, cried and prayed because the aircraft cabin crammed with smoke.

Flight 4827 was on account of depart Indianapolis and fly to Chicago on the morning of Saturday 4 June when take-off needed to be aborted.

Operated by regional airline Republic onboard an Embraer 170/175 plane, the flight was evacuated, with passengers compelled to make use of inflatable slides.

One passenger who’d been on the aircraft instructed View from the Wing that fellow travellers had been “crying and type of screaming and you could possibly see individuals praying”.
