P&O Ferries has confirmed that each one of its Dover-Calais sailings shall be cancelled this weekend.
The corporate had hoped to renew crossing over Easter, however has been telling clients that no providers shall be working till a minimum of Tuesday 19 April.
In response to Twitter person Jeremy Palliser’s question as as to whether ferries could be operating on Thursday or Friday this week, P&O Ferries responded: “This service stays suspended till the 18 April inclusive, we are going to replace when we’ve extra info and if this adjustments we are going to contact you straight. We have now contacted clients who had been affected. Thanks.”
It follows the information that one other of the beleaguered firm’s vessels has been detained by regulators.
The Spirit of Britain ferry is being held in port by the Maritime and Coastguard Company (MCA), which is finishing up inspections to make sure P&O ships are match to sail.
“The Spirit of Britain has been detained as a consequence of surveyors figuring out various deficiencies which had been grounds for detention,” an MCA spokesperson advised ITV Information.

P&O has been telling clients booked onto cancelled crossings: “For these with a confirmed P&O Ferries reserving to journey at present, please arrive on the port for the P&O crusing time booked. As soon as on the port please head to the DFDS cubicles (Dover) or P&O cubicles (Calais).”
Nonetheless, DFDS stated it won’t settle for P&O clients this weekend. The ferry agency tweeted: “DFDS has no availability for P&O clients between 15 April 00.01 and 17 April 23.59. Please don’t proceed to port and not using a confirmed reservation, contact P&O Ferries for various journey preparations.”
