Rail strikes across UK announced for end of June
Rail strikes have been introduced for 3 dates in June after employees voted in favour of business motion.
RMT union members at Community Rail will stage 24-hour walkouts on 21, 23 and 25 June, the Rail Supply Group (RDG) has confirmed.
In Could, members voted 8:1 in favour of strike motion over jobs, pay and circumstances.
Now, in an open letter, RMT has written to Community Rail workers urging them to “stand shoulder to shoulder through the days of business motion”.
“No agency commitments have been obtained from Community Rail or any Practice Working Firm on Job Safety, nor has any pay proposal been put ahead by any firm,” reads the letter.
“Throughout discussions on this problem all the businesses have indicated that they want to pursue their full agenda of ‘workforce reform’ and cuts by means of a transition course of.”
In response, all members of all grades, in all places, hae been instructed to strike between 00.01 and 23.59 on Tuesday 21 June; between 00.01 and 23.59 on Thursday 23 June; and between 00.01 and 23.59 on Saturday 25 June 2022.
