Ryanair: Drunk passenger dragged off flight by police for vaping

A drunk passenger was faraway from a Ryanair flight on Saturday for vaping onboard, with two vans of law enforcement officials summoned to detain him.

The incident occurred on Saturday, 11 June, on a flight ready to take off for Ibiza from Manchester Airport.

Fellow passenger Alex Jackson shared the footage of police boarding the aircraft to take away the offending passenger, captioning it: “Bit excessive if you happen to ask me.”

Since then, his video has had greater than 2.1 million views.

Mr Jackson instructed The Solar: “We have been on the aircraft and two guys proper on the entrance of the aircraft have been completely hammered.

“We have been delayed already so everybody was already a bit agitated anyway.

“I didn’t see it however apparently one of many guys down the entrance began vaping.

“The flight attendant took it off him and the man was asking for it again and he stated no and that they have been phoning the police.

“He stated he would cooperate with them, it wasn’t too heated or something.”

All airways have banned using vapes or e-cigarettes on planes.

In October 2018, a flight operated by Turkish provider Pegasus needed to make an emergency touchdown after a passenger’s e-cigarette caught fireplace mid-flight.

Mr Jackson instructed reporters that there had been two police vans and round eight officers current when the person was dragged off the aircraft.

“His mates have been simply in entrance of me, they stated he at all times does stuff like this and that they weren’t too shocked,” he added.

“I wasn’t bothered, I used to be simply making an attempt to get to Ibiza.”

Manchester Police right now named the passenger as 23-year-old Jack Stringer, confirming that he had been charged with a public order offence and can seem at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Courtroom on 3 August.

One TikTok person commented: “Think about being so hooked on his vape that he’d fairly try to sneak some than simply wait ’til after this flight.”

Person Una Lynch replied to Mr Jackson’s unique caption: “Not excessive in any respect. Folks know the foundations.”

One other person wrote: “I believe someome getting arrested is a part of the Ryanair expertise.”

A Ryanair spokesperson stated: “The crew of this flight from Manchester to Ibiza known as for police help forward of departure after a passenger was discovered vaping onboard the plane.

“In accordance with coverage, smoking/using e-cigarettes is strictly prohibited at any time onboard the plane and this passenger was eliminated by police.”
